Pencil skirt

Pencil skirt or the skirt that can make you look long and slim like a pencil.

The beginning of the pencil skirt the way we know it,  is attributed to Christian Dior in 1954 and has as a predecessor the hobble skirt. If some designers took the hobble skirt and made laborious and uncomfortable evening gowns that you could barely breath in, others gave a more “literal interpretation” and power the fetish fashion with skirts made out of leather and latex.

Back to our times, now there is a big variety of pencil skirt made from different fabrics but all of them have a huge impact over the movement and most of all over the posture. The correct posture is mandatory for wearing this type of skirt. If the pencil skirt is gentle with the curves and flattering with a thin body but I must say that it’s really unforgiving with the posture. You must own the skirt, the way you look in it and have a superior posture following the natural spine curve.

Here is my new pencil skirt and because of the print I call it my diamond skirt. Having an elaborate pattern I chose to wear it with a simple black top.

In my next post I will share some Tips and Tricks regarding how to wear a pencil skirt.
